About

Down&Good started in 2014 as a 3 piece (Shane, James Pitts, Ant Woodhouse) that wanted to combine their love of RnB soul funk and rock.  Shane finally felt free to write the songs that could reflect his life long inspirations.  After a year of songwriting and growth,  the group dissolved due to various issues.   In 2017, Shane was still drawn to the material and couldn’t let good stuff go to obscurity.  He began searching for people who could bring new life to the the previous and new songs.  Thus, Down&Good 2.0 was born.   They continue to evolve to become an inspired group of musicians that strive to relieve audiences of their inhibitions and “shake what Da Lord Gave em”.

Shane

since the age of 11, Shane has wanted to be Mavis Staples.

Holly

she’s like a mix between Patti Labelle, Ann Wilson and Mary Poppins!!

George

George plays keys,

pushes buttons,

turns knobs

…. and collaborates heavily with Dell on keeping Shane very frustrated.

Gerald

In the beginning there was trombone

then George said “Let there be bass!!”

And so it was…

Gary

Even as a child Gary liked to hit things (usually people) with sticks.

…he trained to become an assasin. When the job market for assasinations took a dramatic downturn during the early ’80’s, Gary decided it was time to learn a new trade. Comfortable with using his hands (he could stab someone equally well right or left-handed), Gary traded in his knifes for a pair of drumsticks….Recognized world-wide as “that dude that plays drums baskwards”…When asked how he keeps it fresh he replied, “Umm…I still like to hit things with sticks”.

Austin

a man of few words…  (he hasn’t turned in his bio)

but he plays nice!!!

Susan

Susan was born May,4 19??(  She says she’s trying to reinvent herself)

competes in a TriFitness competitions, but her real love is playing saxophone!

“If I was to choose one thing to do in life, I guess it would be just to play!”

And man she does!!!

Keke

coolest nerd in the galaxy. Keke ( because her real name is top secret) has been jamming ever since she could talk. Drums are her enterprise and the audience is in for a fantastic ride. Shields up,its about to get funky!

Cocco

 Zach

Funk brother Zach was born May 10th 1987, but it wasn’t until he started playing trombone in the 6th grade that he became truly “alive”. Music has taken him from the corners of Anchorage, Alaska and Hong Kong, China to the backwoods swamp country in Louisiana.  Come join Funk brother Zach, his wife and two kids (with one on the way) where getting down is a good time!

James

James was born on the first day of February… Like the very first one. Ever. And since then, he’s been trying to figure out his purpose in life. So far, he’s come to the conclusion that his purpose is: play the saxophone really okay while keeping a day job that mainly consists of yelling at children for money.

Sarah

After 7 tours of duty with the intergalactic military police (or some **** like that), Sarah decided to return to her home planet Earth. Now she spends her retirement playing trumpet and yelling at children like an old grandma. When she’s not drinking beer or hulla-hooping you can find Sarah in the Garden of Eden fulfilling her fantasy of being Eve.

Dell

Dell is a dude who plays keyboards.

He also drinks coffee

….And beer.

(and collaborates heavily with George on keeping Shane very frustrated.)
